I live in Christchurch, New Zealand, and write Fantasy-SciFi novels, poetry, and short fiction, and do books and writer interviews for Women on Air, Plains 96.9 FM.

Thornspell is my first novel and is published by Knopf (Random House Children's Books, USA). It won the Sir Julius Vogel Award 2009 for Best Novel: Young Adult and was a Storylines Childrens' Literature Trust Notable Book 2009.
The Heir of Night is the first in the 4-book, Wall of Night epic fantasy series that is to be published by Eos (HarperCollins USA) and Hachette (Australia/New Zealand) on 1 October, 2010; and by Orbit (Little, Brown & Co, UK) in March 2011.
